Rebecca Saunders, an Intervention Specialist at Hayes High School, has been named the 2026 National Teacher of the Year by the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)!

The Talisman became the 8th school in the nation to qualify as a Distinguished Site during the 2025-2026 school year. This is the third year in a row the Talisman has earned the award, and Hayes is the only high school in Ohio to ever get the distinction.
